This morning, the temperature in Breckenridge was 23. It will be some time before we experience that in Birmingham, but a preview of winter. Breckenridge was pretty deserted as compared to yesterday when we arrived. Lots of people returned to Denver, etc. In fact, many of the places were closed today, which is Monday. We did a 5-1/2 mile walk on the Blue River Bikeway, which extends from Breckenridge to Frisco. Very pretty with some remaining aspen and a crystal blue sky. We then drove up Ski Hill Rd. to the upper ski villages and a view over the Breckenridge valley. Another drive took us up to the Lodge at Breckenridge, where we had stayed 6 years ago, gave more views of the area. The aspen were probably at their peak about a week ago in this area of Colorado, but the area is so very beautiful.
Tomorrow morning we start the 2-day drive back to Birmingham with a stop in Independence, MO. Ah, a great vacation and visit to Colorado has come to an end as all good things do. So, for the next time.......
